Newly Diagnosed Kilt Addict
Well, ever since receiving my first kilt recently I absolutely fell in love with wearing it. So much so that I rarely wear anything other than a kilt now. I will only wear pants if I absolutely have to.
I have gone from my first handmade 6 yard kilt in my clan tartan to now having 6 of them to give me a little more variety. I have 2 of the 8 yard Black Watch kilts in PV, an 8 yard Heritage of Scotland tartan PV kilt, an 8 yard Scottish National tartan PV kilt, and a Sport Kilt in my clan tartan (for when I am doing laundry on the rest of them).
I also bought ghillie brogues, an assortment of kilt hose and flashes, black and brown belts with several buckles to choose from depending on my mood, black and brown leather day sporrans, semi-dress sporran and full dress sporrans, a traditional black wool Argyll Jacket with the chrome buttons , and a grey wool Argyll Jacket and matching waist coat with imitation bone buttons. I still need to break down and get a Prince Charlie Jacket before I attend anything too formal.
I see now that I have become addicted to the kilt. I wonder if there is a 12-step program available. "Kilt Addicts Anonymous".

Welcome to the "Great Rabble!"
Yes, somebody published a "12-step programme" here a couple of years back. It went something like this.
1. Buy kilt
2. Buy sporran
3. Buy Hose & garters
4. Buy Sgian
5. Buy Jacket & vest
6. Buy Balmoral
7. Buy Glengarry (Just in case)
8. Buy Inverness cape (also just in case)
9. Take pipe lessons
10. Buy pipes
11. Join pipe band
12. and finally.... Return to step 1.
I probably didn't get it right, but you get the picture.
Enjoy!

Welcome from an exiled Scot living in the West Midlands of England.
Whether you need a 12-step programme depends on whether you want to be cured of the addiction. If you enjoy kilt-wearing, just stay with it!
