Newly kilted in Dallas
Hello All,
I am a new member from Dallas. Just wore my first kilt this week. I am a member of the Clan Donnachaidh Society of Texas and a Duncan descendant. My mother spent about 8 yrs tracing our genealogy and one side of our family is of pure Scottish blood. My wife and I traveled to Edinburgh 2 years ago and I have embraced my culture after meeting a relative there for the first time. I am looking for advice in the kilt department as I would like to purchase a better quality than what I have.
Thanks and look forward to getting to know some of you.

Welcome
You've come to the right place for plenty of general advice about all things to do with kilts. More specifically, you can go to all the advertisers and find a range of choices for your next kilt. I too spring from Clan Donnachaidh, and have a couple of pieces of tartan in Red Robertson and Robertson Hunting, some of it waiting for me to turn into kilts.
It's a joyous path you're on!

Well met jaywin. The questions will come (when will I wear a kilt, will I dress up or down with my kilt, does this tartan make my butt look larger) * sorry the last example was provided as levity * however, this site and members will assist in all aspects of kilted lifestyles. Glad you joined us for the discussions.

Hello and welcome from Houston, TX. There are plenty of occasions in Texas to wear the kilt. The Texas Scottish Festival in Arlington, TX, is not to be missed, and the same goes for the North Texas Irish Festival, the Highland Games in Salado, Ingram (Kerr Co.), and San Antonio (Helotes), to name only a few. Next up is the San Antonio Highland Games the weekend of April 1-2.
