Greetings all, I am relatively new to the kilt world. I have a costume kilt that I used during my days with the Florida Renaissance Festival in the late 1990s but I have never really counted that as part of a proper collection. I am most closely related to Clan Hannay but since that is an obscure clan as far as most kilt makers are concerned I have not been able to afford a kilt in the Hannay tartan. However, I recently discovered that I am related to Clan Stewart (as well as a few others) and, armed with that knowledge, bought my first "proper" kilt from Stillwater Kilts a few days ago in Black Stewart. I have lurked around on this site for a few months and finally registered today. I look forward to learning all I can from this eclectic group of kiltaholics. Late addition: I am also planning on competing in the 2011 Loch Norman Highland Games. Amateur division, of course.

Hello and welcome from Houston, TX! Good luck in preparing for the games!
Hey all, Thank you very much for the warm welcome. I have a lot of work to do between now and 2011 to get ready for the games, especially since I have never handled a caber nor tossed a sheaf. My only experience lies in shotput and discus during my high school track and field days. It should be interesting either way.
