Old Dude Uncloaks
Hello, all.
I've been lurking here for a year or two and even thought I'd registered here way back then but it appears to have been a false memory.

This photo was taken about three years ago and was the last time I wore my kilt to work for Tartan Day. It was the "last time" because I RETIRED a few months later.
I've spent the past 10 years competing in the Highland Games and know a few of the forum members from our competitions.
For what it's worth, I hand sewed my first kilt although rarely wear that one any more as I prefer my Clan Cunningham garb.
I am fond of telling the young'uns, "In an effort to crush the Scottish clan system, the English Parliament enacted the Act of Proscription in 1746 which outlawed the wearing of tartan garb. The Act was removed years later due to widespread non-compliance by the Scots. Therefore, wearing a kilt is not only your right as a Scotsman, it's your DUTY!"
Aye.
