...out of the hiding ;-) - Greeting sfor Easter from Good (c)Old Germany
Hello Kilties,
after heaving read for two or three weeks in this forum, I'd like to give a short introduction of myself:
My name is Marcus, I was born in 1966, married, two wonderfull daughters (*2000/*2002) and since about 6 month I'm enthusiast of kilts.
But how did that happen ???
Since about 8 years I enjoy pipe smoking - since about five years I like to drink Scottish Single Malt WhiskY - I like celtic inspired music (Runrig, Red Hot Chillie Pipers, Capercaille) - and last year there was Military Tattoo on famous Open Air Ground of the Loreley - with a little Scottish Market and a traditional Kiltmaker (it was Donald Mackenzie from Hamburg) - and I thought - WOW, kilting is soo coool... and as I'm always a little bit different to others ..... matches !
A little story to that: On that market I told my two daughters that I am thinking about to wearing a kilt - They looked a little astonished at me - and - because I'm a GOS (guy of substance, 185 cm - 110 kg (i.e. ca. 6"1' - 240 lbs)) - the older one said -
"Hmmm, Daddy, don't you think, you are a LITTLE BIT to big for such a kilt ???"
wooosh, full house. But just at that moment, a REAL BIG ONE came across (about 160 kg - i.e. ca. 350 lbs) - wearing a kilt and a HORIZONTALY striped rugby-shirt. So I told the girls to turn around - they did - and after looking back into my smiling eyes they BOTH said - "O.K. Daddy, that should be o.k. with YOU " - STRIKE !!
.. and e few weeks later I bought my first kilt. It was a cheap PV kilt via web from The Scotland Kilt Company just to test, if I can feel comfortable in a 'skirt'. AND I DO, so I'm just thinking about a second one (maybe used or ex-hire ???....)
To give you an impression, here's a photofrom me in a more classic, jacobean outfit:

So guys, so far about me and now: Happy Easter to everyone
Greez
Marcus
