out of the kilt carrier and into the sun
I don't have a kilt carrier, but don't let the facts get in the way of a tale to be told. Right, I've been wearing my kilts around the house for the past few weeks, but today for the first time I ventured out into the big, bad world in one I went and fetched my youngest sons from school this afternoon wearing my saltire kilt, okay, I used the saltire to validate my wearing of a kilt, (Wuss), should anyone challenge me, which they didn't of course. BUT, the saltire is the only professionally made kilt I possess, so just in case my kilts look like manure, I thought I'd play safe. Mind you, the sporran is all my own work, got to have somewhere for the ubiquitous mobile phone and debit card. Well, I just thought I'd tell someone my news

The more you venture out kilted, the more it becomes natural. I go to some places now in tru's and am ask why I am dressed funny. They expect me in a kilt.

Welcome to the world of kilt wearing. Once you get over you nervousness, you will find more and more and more reasons to wear it... Before long, you may join the ranks of Hamish and Riverkilt!
Oh, and by the way, we want to see pictures of you in your kilt!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Keep up the venture, I agree the more you go out in one, the more people will accept it.

I also went out this morning to Starbucks, Target, and Costco in my kilt, sporran, Chacos, and a t shirt. I got four compliments for the choice of attire. I said "Any day in a kilt is a good day."
Cheers, Chris
