    Re-introduction

    Greetings, all!

This is something of a re-introduction, as I first joined the XMarks community in 2006 but have been pretty dormant for the last couple of years.

I'm a higher education analytics consultant and a leadership development presenter, so I'm on the road pretty much every week. In my "other life" I am an Episcopal priest now serving Church of the Holy Apostles on the Oneida Indian Reservation near Green Bay, Wisconsin.

I recently gave my brown canvas AmeriKilt, my first foray into the kilted state, to my best friend (who has the aggravating habit of not gaining weight). And now I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the MacKenzie Ancient 8-yard traditional kilt I ordered from Wm. Glen and Sons a couple of weeks ago when Lovely Wife and I were visiting San Francisco.

While I wait, of course, I am torturing myself by surfing the web looking at photos of kilt jackets and hose!

I have many occasions each year to wear black tie, including the "White Christmas | Black Tie" party that Lovely Wife and I host each year, and I look forward to wearing Highland dress now.

The chivalric and charitable society I belong to, the Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem, not only has formal convents and investitures twice a year, but we also do very successful recruiting each summer at the Wisconsin Highland Games -- most likely because we line our booth with a dozen swords like the Templars or the Scots would have used.

I'm the tall guy in the Glengarry bonnet at the back, by the way.

The Patiences, my father's family, trace their ancestry back to a couple of Portuguese sailors shipwrecked off the Spanish Armada in 1588 and washed up on the Black Isle norhteast of Inverness. The fishing village of Avoch, where the MacKenzies had a manor house, is still about half Patiences and half Jacks. The McColls, on my mother's side, are from the Isle of Mull.

Look forward to participating more regularly in the forum.

    Good to meet you!

Do you have a clergy tartan kilt?

I wore mine at an event recently, and was immediately recognized by a fellow person of the cloth!
