Requesting permission to come aboard
Slainte! My name is Jim and I am in VA currently. I have been wearing all manner of kilts (except for the really flash expensive ones) since I was a kid, even before I knew of my Scottish & Irish heritage. Just as a heads up, I am new to the formal wearing of kilts and accompanying gear, and you may see some posts by me that reflect that. I am looking forward to learning some things, seeing some great snaps, and having a good chat here and there as well!
Right off the bat, I have a question for anyone in the know.....How do I post a pic to a thread that is on my local system, not on a website?
Éirí an bóthar chun freastal do chosa ........

from South Wales UK!
I can only refer you to the pictures FAQ http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...s_faq_pictures
Where it states Unfortunately you cannot upload pictures, graphics or photos directly onto the forum from your home computer. You must link to your photos that are published somewhere else on the web.
To do this you must first upload your pictures to a website.
The FAQ then tells you what to do.

Welcome aboard from nearby Amelia County. The easiest way to post pics is to host then an a site such as Photobucket. I'm not sure you can post directly from your computer.

Hello Jim,
Welcome to XMarks from the other side of the Atlantic in Norfolk, England.
I can recommend Photobucket as a good, free, place to store your photos. All I would say is that you need to be a bit organised. Make a folder for each event or occasion and once the pics are there - keep them there. If you re-organise in a year's time and move your pics, then all the links will be broken and nothing shows in the threads
Regards
Chas
