Revealed
Good Day:
After lurking for about a month and as it is the first of the month, I figured that now is as good a time to "reveal" myself.
I had been wanting a kilt for a long time and as the kids were getting to the matrimonial age, I took the leap. Although I do wear it for games and other occasions, I do consider it part of my formal wear.
All photo's are taken by my wife, Kathleen (giving credit where credit is due):

First day wearing the kilt (Shepherd Tartan/check, modern), 9/2/2007, taken in Acadia Nat'l Park, ME. The kilt was made by Doreen Browning of the Kiltmakers Apprentice in Highland NY, http://www.highlandkiltshop.com/index.cfm

First wedding (7/2008) I wore the kilt and had just gotten the coat and vest (both by St. Kilda). Photo was "fixed" to get rid of extras along the sides.

Second wedding, family friends daughter (6/2009). Trying out the bow tie look. Not sure who the guest is but we were talking kilts and Nova Scotia's kilted events.

Third wedding (9/2009) (family friends son), and surprise!!! They had a piper at the reception!!!
I know for the "purist", the sporran may be "incorrect" for these types of events but I have been slowly building the outfit. The "formal" sporran has been ordered and be in in a couple of weeks (yes, I will post pic's), in time for my daughters wedding in July. All wedding parties (bride and/or groom) knew ahead of time that I was wearing the kilt and had no problems with my attire.
And although I have no photo's at this time, I also have the fly plaid, again for the wedding.
So that is me in a large nutshell (otherwise known as a nut case).

Welcome to X-Marks - from Music City, USA - Nashville, TN !!
Love the kilt and the accouterments with it. I have a set D.I.Y. flashes
just like those that I made last Fall to go with my clergy tartan.

mrtackytn - my father has been hinting that he was getting a kilt, hopefully he will by my daughters wedding as he will be performing the ceremony. I don't know if he will get Shepherd or Clergy. Time will tell....
