Salutations from Los Angeles
Hi there everybody
I started wearing kilts a few weeks ago. wow. what a game changer! I am in Los Angeles where it can get to be a bit too hot for my own liking. Beside the obvious comfort, my red beard yearns to be in a kilt and I am happy I have made the switch! few things about me:
I am a Norse Pagan, I renounced being a Krisjan years ago and haven't looked back. I look to the Allfather and the gods for guidance and wisdom on all my journeys.
I am an Actor, I know everyone in Los Angeles says that, but I have actually been in some great productions.
I am a Real Estate agent. wanna buy a house? Lets talk! hahaha
The first time I went out in public in LA wearing a kilt, I felt free, proud, and my ancestors were smiling upon me. maybe they were laughing, who knows, but I could sense they were smiling. I picked up some pizza from Dominos. Did I receive a few looks? Sure. Its LA. No one wears kilts here. Did I care? Heck no.
Anyone who wishes to wear a kilt should embrace it. I know I have.
Any recommendations on good Kilts will be gladly accepted. I see a lot on amazon but you know.... Amazon....

Hi, and a warm welcome, from another newbie, in this game!
Also wearing the hammer, being a Dane, of north atlantic (mostly Norse (norwegian/danish) decendance)
Can only agree. Wearing a kilt surely give that little extra...
As to help with a good kilt, there's several kiltmakers in the US. Some are active in here. Some are sponsors as well...
Take a peek here: http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...play.php?f=294
As to getting inspired, You'll just have to Ooze around.
There's loads of info in here.
But also try to see some of USAkilts Youtube videos here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCni...h5S84aQ-3d_DJA

Welcome from a Scotsman living in the English Midlands. Agree with your outlook on kilt-wearing. Unfortunately, we wife thinks it's too conspicuous south of the Scottish border. Will be in Scotland later in the year, and am looking forward to a kilted week!

I live in Lancashire and wear a kilt most of the time. If I don't, people ask why. I usually tell them that I'm in disguise.

welcome
I wear a kilt almost constantly and while I have gotten sour looks (or maybe the person was having a bad day) the vast majority of people who comment have been very positive. I was in Grand Teton last spring and as I exited a building an older woman behind me (but still younger than me I think) told me how much she love my kilt and as she said that a young attractive woman who was just ahead of me turned and said she really loved it and her boy friend was definitely going to be getting one of those.
