Scot in London
Greetings , found the site a few weeks ago and thought it is time to introduce myself.
As a Scot Born and bred I have worn the kilt since I was old enough to walk, I moved south to London 30 years ago and the kilt seemed to get lost in the wardroab.
With my daughters wedding last year it seemed the ideal oportunity to to return to the tartan so decided on a new kilt. Whilst I do not have a clan tartan I discovered a new Tartan "Spirit of West Lothian" , great as I am born and bred in West Lothian, so it was new kilt , tweed waist coat and jacket , saltire sporan and hose and Ghillie broughes.
It was as though I had been wearing the outfit all my life and couldnt believe the intrest that it generated .
Of to Australia later this year to visit familiy and one of the conditions which I was given is that I have to take the kilt, think I will leave the tweed jacket and waist coat though as a bit hot for that.
Seem to find that the older that I get and the longer I am away from Scotland the more Scottish I get.
So any Australians on here if you see someone in NSW in October in a kilt then it could well be me.

Welcome to the forum, from Glasgow!
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.
