South USA!
Greetings everyone!
James here - stumbled across this forum looking for a sgian dubh to serve as an eventual heirloom piece. Beardie Beastie and his Real Sgian Dubh company is a stand out to say the least (if I could find his bloody email!)
I am of the ancestral diaspora patronymically which we discovered as a result of a recent DNA test and baptismal record search. Since this revelation, I have become somewhat of a Scot-o-Phile, gathering as much information as my tiny brain can consume, separating romance from reality, and attempting to pass on this substance to my son. Although, at the age of 8, all he's really interested in is Minecraft!
I have no kilts, and to be honest, the modern style is a bit formal for my particular taste - but, this is from the perspective of someone who has never worn such. Eventually, I'm sure...
Off we go!

Well met my "Bama neighbor.
Some would call us a rabble, some a niche and some folks offer flattering prose or the most awful things that can spew from the lips of evil doers.
Glad to have you with us.

Welcome
Welcome from a Scotsman living in the West Midlands of England. Not sure what you mean about the modern style being "a bit formal" - kilts can be worn as formal or informal as you like!
