Thank you from Ontario, Canada
Thank you for your welcome. Although I do not wear a kilt outside my home, I am very interested in this subject and hope someday to screw up my courage to do so.

Just get a decent one and wear it correctly, Crossesfour. Worry about the rest later. In fact, you will probably receive a compliment or two.

There's nothing wrong with being humble and not wanting to draw attention to yourself. Its clothes; and there is nothing wrong with wearing a kilt. Did it feel 'odd' the first day - well, yes it did. Because I'd not seen one worn around town before (special occasions excepted). Now I get asked why I'm NOT wearing it.

Welcome and I can assure you from experience that Ontario is kilt friendly. Give wearing your kilt out and about a try.

Welcome to the forum from Toronto, if you are anywhere near Toronto you would be most welcome at our monthly kilt night, there you would see that wearing a kilt in public is done by many in this area.

Welcome from Southwestern Ontario. There are plenty of opportunities for you, once you screw up your courage. Highland games are a natural place, as is Tartan Tuesday - which McMurdo mentioned - in Toronto. I sometimes have the good fortune to take a day and wander in to meet new kilted friends. You won't regret it, when you finally do wear it out and about.
