Top of the mornin to ya from the Capital District of NY
I bought my 1st kilt last weekend at the Capital District Scottish Games in Altamont, came complete with sporran & sporran belt/chain for all of 89 bucks. Now I got the bug, and am looking for something of a bit higher quality.
While my original ancestors came here from Germany in the mid-1700's, by now I'm more Scot than anything else. For clan affiliation, we are Campbells, as I had a full blooded Campbell grandmother and my wife had a full blooded Campbell great grandmother. That is my most recent Scottish ancestry, but there are lots more. For instance, my grandmother's mom was a Wallace.
I've been looking around the web for a decent affordable kilt. I will try to get the bucks up for one of the semi-traditional kilts that USA Kilts sells. That's really how I found these forums - looking for a good value on a kilt. Then I guess a Jacobite shirt, some hose and go from there.
Take care and have a great day!
Frank
