Tropical Cairns
G'day
I'm currently living in Far North Queensland and am a fitter & turner by trade. I have come off the tools now to the administration side of things.
Although not formally affiliated with it, I belong genealogically to Clan Ramsay. I've always taken a keen interest in my family's history, although funnily enough I know more about those from centuries past than I do of my more immediate forebears. I know they were cattle people in South Western Queensland around Texas in the Goondiwindi Region. Apparently there was a great falling out and consequently I am part of the side that fortune didn't favour If there is anyone out there that could speak to the Ramsay family's fortunes in that location during the 19th and 20th centuries I would very much like to hear from you.
I have two kilts. One being a modern black utility kilt, the other an 8 yard granite tartan. I'm yet to buy a clan tartan kilt, but it is most definitely on the cards. I expect I will be able to mine a great deal of information from you all in regard to the acceptable wearing of the kilt and associated trappings and accoutrements. Having said that I will cop to being a bit of a rogue and that will likely manifest in my interpretation of aforementioned data. As long as I'm within cooee of proper wear I'll be happy
Thanks for having me here.

Welcome from Goondiwindi. Unfortunately the only Ramseys I know are from South Australia.
Regards,
Luke.

Welcome from a Scotsman in the English Midlands. I've holidayed in Australia more than once, and visited Cairns - a lovely part of the world.
