Trying to get kilted in Laurens, SC
Hello all from Laurens SC. I am a father of two girls, two step daughters, and a new baby due in March. I was doing some searches on the net for kilts and directions to make kilts, found this site. I thought why not, could provide some useful information, and some good conversation. I hope to get enough courage up to actualy try to make a kilt because coming up with the xtra funds to buy one outright is difficult with all the children. I am employeed by the State of South Carolina / Spartanburg School Bus Shop. I am the Shop Foreman for that shop. In my off time I enjoy photography, and civil war reenacting.

Well welcome aboard! Stick around, there's plenty of knowledge to gain here.
You say you're interested in making kilts, TB gave a link that several here have used to make a casual kilt. I haven't done it just yet, but I intend to at some point.
If you're looking for the more traditional style kilt, pick up some Carolina Tartan , and Barb Tewksbury's book, The Art of Kiltmaking, and you're all set
Either way, enjoy your stay here!

Welcome from the canyonlands.
If you save your loose change every day won't be too long until you can afford a casual kilt...
How to hide it from the ladies....no clue....good luck though.
