A Warm Canadian 'Hello'!
Hello X-Marks forum users!
I have been poking my nose around in the forums for a few months now, but I think it's high time to become an official member!
I have two kids in Highland dance, so I have learned more about kilts in the last few years than I ever thought possible.
I am a sewer, and I am also a real cheapskate, so I have a hard time forking over the cash for new dance outfits.
I bought Barb T's book, TAOK, along with some very bright tangerine tartan many months ago.
I finally got down to the measuring, ripping, marking, and pleating. I'm on pleat #4 at the moment. I hope I'm doing it right!
I'm looking forward to sharing my finished kilt with you, hopefully before the next competition in April. The girls' dance teacher has been giving my oldest a hard time over her much-too-short kilt. And now that I've read Barb's book, I can see that it is really a terribly made kilt. Yikes!
I've attached a picture of the tartan I'm working with - Dress Tangerine Scott
Looking forward to getting to know all of you!
Dianna

And if you would like, consider coming to Kilt Kamp. Barb will be here in person.

Welcome from a fellow dance mother and cheapskate in Utah! I also came by the forum while doing research to make my daughter's dance outfits. I completed my daughter's first kilt last summer and I honestly don't think I could've done it without the forum.
