Thanks Graham,I appreciate your kind words.
I'm a bit of an old hand at kilt wearing but a complete novice with this creaky old Mac. 9.1 which I've inherited.
    This website is great fun.

    Why wear a kilt?

Thanks lads and lasses for the welcome.
Why do I wear a kilt most of the time? Why not?
First,we all try to modify our environment to suit ourselves, our houses, our gardens our clothes.
How have trousers become a male uniform, emblematic of masculinity? Look at the symbols on washroom doors throughout the world:bifurcated figure male, kilted figure female - absurd. Nothing could be more counterintuitive.Trousers are fine for some activities i.e. riding horses or bikes but are generally most uncomfortable. The social pressures on men to wear trousers (or neckties for that matter) are inexplicable. No wonder many western men are angry most of the time.
Second the kilt is an expression of my cultural identity. In this country people identify themselves as indigenous Australians,Italian Australians, chinese Australians etc. Well I'm celtic Australian and no mistake.
Third, the kilt is a sartorial work of art. Pity the're so expensive but that's life.
All you lads of whatever origin put it on and get out there.
I live near Ballarat on the side of a hill. Just had a flash flood and most of the hill is now in the yard.
