XKilted newbie in the making.
Hello !
I am a kilted newbie in the making. I am currently working on my first XKilt in a black cotton/poly twill. My thanks to all at XMarks, fellow kilted brethren ,and to Alan H. for his XKilt design.
Having never worn a kilt, much less made one, could someone post pictures of a finished Xkilt that demonstrates how the "Under Apron Pleat" folds (and stitched, if that is the case) with respect to the "Over Apron", please ?
If I understand correctly from the design instructions, the over apron velcros to the right side under apron, but I'm confused how the under apron pleat functions.
I have so far sewn the three inch and five inch pleats, A shaped the over apron and attached the velcro strip.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

First pic is the inside of an Xkilt outer apron. The pleat edge is visible as a vertical line of stitching at about the halfway point of Velcro width. That stitching just helps keep the pleat fold in place, of course it does not go through the outer apron.

Here is the same area, prior to the waistband being sewn on. Hope this helps you visualize the relationship!

Thank you, Sydnie7, for the photos. I see the vertical line of stitching that intersects the halfway point of the velcro. And, I believe that vertical is one side of the A shaping of the outer apron. But, and forgive me, what about the material to the left of the vertical that apparently comprises the under apron pleat ? Why is that pleat there, and what does one do with it ?
I've just edited my earlier post to include these photos of my XKilt in progress. Somehow, I think I need do something with that twelve inch under apron pleat as I look at Sydnie 7's photos. I'm just not sure what that something should be. Thanks again to all of you for your advice and suggestions.
(Viewing older posts I understand the under apron pleat is twelve inches wide to be folded inward as one huge six inch box pleat, so does it get sewn inside and attached to the outer apron at the fell ?)
