Yet another person eagerly joining
Hello everyone
I'm Scottish on my mother's side, and was born in New Zealand, but have lived in the US for some decades now.
I'm fortunate to get to regularly visit Scotland, and will next be going there in September. Yay.
I've decided to finally take the plunge and get a kilt. To be brutally honest, I'm a bit nervous about venturing forth in a kilt, especially in the US! But I think I'll give it a try. Accordingly I'm here and eager for information and advice, and hope in turn to be able to reciprocate and offer some of my own, in time to come, in turn.
Thanks to all who participate this very useful site.
Sláinte Mhath
David.

Thank you. I love Victoria and Vancouver Island in general, and the ferry crossing to get there is lovely, too.
I'll look for proud kilt-wearers next time I'm on that side of the border. Who knows, I might be one myself by then, too!

Thank you very much for mentioning this. I'd forgotten all about it. I'll definitely try to go visit.

Hi, Dave
I'd noted a sort of fellow Kiwi. Thanks for your note. Not quite sure what you said in maori at the top, but I'm sure it was friendly too!
I've many a happy memory of Wellington, although not so much in Porirua/Titahi Bay as central Wellington.
All the best
David.

Welcome from Nova Scotia, wore my kilt for first time last week. Was also nervous, but this site was a godsend for finding advice and photos of wear styles. I said to my wife, should have started years ago.
