    Great kilt -sold

    SOLD
I have a 58x128 great kilt that needs a new home.
I am asking $120 plus shipping, but am open to any reasonable offer. I would like to sell this quickly.

Hi Ben, couple of questions. First, which tartan is this? Next, I'm not familiar with sizing on the great kilt, is the 58 the waist? If so, can that be altered to about a 50-51?

Thanks. It's a great looking kilt and wish I could afford it at this great price. Best of luck with the sale.

Yes it fits any waist. Lots of YouTube videos that show how to put on a great kilt... But basically it is folded/pleated then wrapped around you and belted. The excess that drapes down is gathered up and pinned to your shoulder.

It is pre "clan" tartan. Tartans were not connected to family names until the 19th century, after the Walter Scott inspired Scottish cultural revival. During the time if the great kilt, there were no clan tartans.

Ben, thank you very much for the explanation and disregard the last part of my private message regarding the tartan. I had replied to the message before I read this thread so my apologies. Best of luck with the sale to !
