Stewart Ancient Tartan Kilt - By The Scotch House. Knightsbridge. London.

    Season's Greetings to all.

I thought I would share this kilt that I have recently acquired from a family member. Although it does not represent my personal family tartan (Bell/Laidlaw) - It is a quality piece and I have decided that it is time to sell.

The kilt is in wonderful order throughout with no noticeable flaws. No rubbing, marking or holes. I have spotted a very faint stain to the inner lining only. Going on the construction it looks as though it may have a little age to it. Perhaps within the past 30 or so year) - Although the buckles look relatively new with no signs of wear. The leather straps certainly don't look to have any real use. Suggestion it has had little wear. feat. two belt loops to upper centre of rear kilt.

The tartan - Stewart Ancient Hunting. All wool.

It is made by The Scotch House . Knightsbridge. London . SW.1. Which was established on July 1st 1909 until being taken over by Burberrys of London around 2002. From what I have read the store was very well known back in the day with shops both on Knightsbridge and Regent Street. - The real well to do 'hot spots' of London.

Should anyone care for further information / measurements do let me know. It is approx a 28/31" waist. From waist to lower hem is approx 24 inches. Number of pleats approx 30. Weight 906g - which is relatively light compared to your military kilts.

The price is £185 ono - Happy to ship outside the U.K at extra cost.

Please note, this is not for business purposes. As it was given by a family member.

Happy to answer any questions that you may have.

    Kind Regards, Gillan
