8 yard kilt has arrived!
I got a great suprise last week in that I received my 8 yard Royal Stewart Bear Kilt, and I got it in time for the May 1st festivities. Gettting the kilt wasn't the suprise (I did order it). I ordered an 8 yard after seeing Andrew's when he first got it.
The suprise was a how awesome of a kilt this is. I have two 4 yard kilts from Bear 1) the Black Watch (made out of the Canadian tartans when Bear only had a few tartans to choose from), and 2) a 4 yard Mackenzie. Both of these kilts are great and suit different purposes. This new 8 yard kilt is more than I thought it would be. The weight is fantastic, and the swing and pleating are great. This kilt spins with little to no effort (as a few women in Vancouver found out, right Andrew........ ). To see the swing of the 8 yard check out the video on Bear kilt Celtic Fest section http://bearkilts.com/parade2004/paradepg.html
If anyone is thinking of getting a Bear kilt, your first or your fifth, go for the 8 yard. I now have a kilt for every form of weather Vancouver can throw at me.
I will post pics in my album later this week.

I'll look forward to the piccies. I was thinking today that I may only order 8 yarders from now on. They hang and swing better.
Nice movie on the website Bear, very clever!

Colin ordered his first kilt (a Black Watch Classic Cut) on April 16th. 2003. That was Bear Kilt #36.
