    Alt.Kilt

Has anyone bought anything from Alt.Kilt? She had an advertisement in the LJ "men in kilts" community this morning, so I looked at her page. Her prices seem reasonable.

Those prices do seem reasonable, but I thought it looked a little weird that the pleats almost go all the way around. There is just a small apron in the front. They do look nice though. I'd be interested to hear if anyone has purchased from them as well.

looks very similar to a Utilikilt and not much cheaper.. I'd almost be hesitant in ordering from them simply because the quality doesn't look that great.. they should have at least ironed the kilts before placing pictures of the on the web.. and this one the snaps aren't lined up very well causing it to have a gap in the apron...

now of course, this is all based on just what I can see on the website... in person they may be very well made kilts... but why put pictures of products on the web that aren't showing them at their best??

like they say...a picture is worth a thousand words....

I would love to get my son the monster truck kilt, but for $50 it needs to be able to grow with him a little.

Wow, the picture of the brown faux leather kilt on the men's gallery page is almost a direct copy of an Amerikilt.
That being said, the material of that kilt looks incredible

yeah... that one does look good.. it sort of looks like a cross between a Amerikilt and Utilikilt (same 6 snap design as Amerikilt and sporran with a narrow Utilikilt apron)

Hmmmm wonder how much faux leather costs and how well it would stand up to use in a X-Kilt design....

I just looked at a few of them. I am not sure about the kilts, but the pictures that I looked at were of kilts that needed to have the pleats pressed. It just it not look to me like something that you would want to show for marketing.

Although I am interested in this type of kilt (neo-kilt?) for myself I would more material to have more and deeper pleats. I think that I like the idea of a kilt that wears at the hips, but I would like it to have pleats more like a 'traditional' kilt.

For the price I might consider giving one a try and see what I think then.

Looks like the same design flaw as the basic sportkilt, or feature if you're a good marketer. The first pleat should be a reverse pleat, kilt-technophiles will have the right word, so that it doesn't flare out.
