Amerikilt order turnaround time?
I ordered an Amerikilt last week hoping to get it in time for a concert on Wednesday night. I tried emailing last week (no response) and calling (no answer, just machine) to find out when I should expect to recieve my kilt but I guess the AK guys are tied up.
Can anyone with an AK tell me how long it took between the time they ordered and recieved shipment of their AK?
Thanks

Fat Chance you will get it in time. But possible. Hope you know, it will probably come in larger then you ordered by anywhwer from 1 to 1 1/2 inches. and the length will be their standard they don't do half inches or Odd waist sizes. a 35 waist will get you a 36 and may measuure 37.. mine did..

Shame Mike didn't answer the phone since you could just drive over and pick one up from him!
IF you're stuck, and need one by Wednesday, let me know. If you happen to be close to the same waist size, I have access to a LOAD of kilts that you can borrow... including a black AmeriKilt.

I'm a stout fellow. 6'1", ~280 lbs. If you're close to those proportions, lemme know dude! I wish I could remember the measurements I sent to AK.
There was nothing on the web site that mentioned turnaround time, if they kept a lot of stock ready to ship or if each one is custom made, etc. I'm hoping this isn't a 6-8 week turnaround like some of the custom shops.

Holy Schnikeys! Compared to you, I'm about the size of one of your shoes!!!
Now I KNOW you'll need to get out with the kilt night folks once we get rolling again. You'll fit right in with the majority of the "attendees".
Next time you have a "rush order" you might consider USAKilts over in Audubon, PA. You can actually get the thing within 24-hours if you pick it up at the shop... and they're not swamped. Food for thought!
In fact, you might try calling them to see about getting one made, and deferring the payments for awhile... if possible. Tell them the situation and see if they can work with you!

I already talked to USAkilts. I want to patronize them with my next kilt order but they are suggesting that there is up to 4 weeks backup right now for a kilt. I'd like to get a festive looking tartan kilt for Christmas celebrations so I have to put in my order in the next few weeks.

BTW - Best full body pic I have is here: http://gallery.yonderway.com/lwe-nyc-2004/dscn2260
You will recognize the backdrop as "Seinfeld's Diner".

UPDATE!!!
I have good news and I have bad news.
The good news is that my Amerikilt was in the arms of my local postman TODAY!!!
The bad news is that he ignored the prominent sign on my door directing all couriers to drop off packages next door if there is no answer at my door.
And tomorrow is a federal holiday.
But I have someone picking the package up for me Wednesday so I have time to don my kilt before hopping on the train and getting to the concert!
