    Bleaching a UK?

Hi all; I just snagged a new denim UK that someone had partly spattered with bleach to give it an "acid-washed" look, and I'd like to take it the rest of the way, either bleaching it entirely white cotton, or re-dying it in another colour. I'd appreciate any tips from anyone that's done this sort of thing before.
    Thanks in advance.

Bleaching will weaken the stitches and fabric, leading to premature wear. Dyeing the entire thing will be tricky -- the bleached spots will take the dye differently than the original surface -- but there are tactics for the best dye job, as I learned when I asked a similar question in this old thread.

I never did try dyeing that white Utilikilt. . . it's lurking at the very bottom of an ever-growing to-do list!

I'll echo what Sydnie says, you really don't have any way of knowing how the first bleaching work was done, and any further bleaching might result in weakened or damaged fabric. You might not notice for some time, but the cloth will be more likely to fray and tear, the stitching might actually be ok as it's likely to be polyester, but it's a risk none the less.If it wasn't expensive then of course give it a try, using a proper pre- dye or bleaching preparation would be best, but it make take a few goes to get it back to white, well more likely cream!
I've re dyed canvas jackets and trousers with reasonable success, but I've never taken a completly dark colour as my start point!Good luck, and of course pictures when you do it please!
