(blog) PULLTEETH TUESDAY: Men in Kilts
Here is an interesting blog post about contemporary kilts. It looks at both street-style and fashion runways, but is definitely on the "fashion forward" side of things.

The author's pictures of himself are preferable to me over the catwalk stuff because they are more realistic for everyday wear. I can appreciate the artistry of fashion design but it usually strikes me as being a little over the top for regular wear.
I also like what he says about kilting:
"The thing I love about styling a kilt like this is that you’re essentially just substituting a kilt for a pair of jeans on what would be a pretty basic outfit. Throw on your backpack, a pair of sunglasses and your boots and you’re ready to go!"

I understand it is Fashion , But I do not like kilts with pants on under them.
-But that is just my thoughts .. But for what it is and Fashion it could work for them . Young Good looking guys can pretty much ware anything and it
becomes fashion. The outdoors pic's looks like he has the kilt on side ways ?

Re: (blog) PULLTEETH TUESDAY: Men in Kilts
It's going to happen more and more as kilts gain popularity. Designers looking for a "fresh" look are going to "jump on the band wagon", with little or no knowledge of kilt construction, are going to make "skirts" and call them kilts.

Yeah, like Thomas H said, I just can't get over the fact that he's wearing trousers under them. Even in the tartan kilt (which he does seem to be wearing sideways), he's got on some spandex leggings of some sort.
That totally blows the whole thing out of the water, IMHO.

Yes, all I saw was man in skirt wearing pants underneath....
I like a nice short parade that ends at a bar.

The bright side to this is like most trendy things that aren't practical, it will be gone in a year. Pants or shorts with a kilt - where is the advantage. I you like the look, wait a year and rummage the second hand bins they will be "like new".

The runway photos just make me think of masculine and feminine at the same time;
like they're wearing somebodys sisters skirt over their pants. I don't "see" a kilt there myself.

But of course, wearing all those layers, Ms. Swollocks is that last person you'd see anything of...
