CON...SIS...TAN...CY!!!
As a kiltmaker, I'm posting this message due to the ENORMOUS amount of emails that I'm getting concerning BearKilts.
There are a LOAD of companies that offer kilts. All sorts of fabrics, styles and prices. I've mentioned that other companies are hesitant to utilize the Poly-Viscose because it "highlights" flaws in workmanship.
If I had an "Award for Consistancy"... it's going right up to Vancouver.
In the last year, Bear has managed to produce kilts that are uniform, straight, solid in construction, and (best of all) appreciated by all his customers. I have to thank everyone that's emailed and posted their preferences in manufacturers... at all price ranges. I WISH that I could share all the comments with you all, but some are rather derogatory towards other conpany's selling techniques and knowledge of the heritage, and that won't be continued here.
Nice work up there, buddy. Quality DOES matter.

Now you know why the wait time is more than a few days, eh? Quality takes time.

Wow Jimmy!
I'm honoured! Especially since you've shown your knowledge of kilts lately. I knew you had the knowledge because of some e-mails but it's nice to see you showing the educated side of you.
(Don't give up the fun stuff entirely, though!)
I am aware that I'm not the fastest kiltmaker but I do have a high and rigid level of quality that has to come first.
I've found most people are willing to wait for quality, even bcmtbka, who is nearly crawling out of his skin trying not to get after me while waiting for his 8 yard Maple Leaf kilt.
(He absolutely hates waiting! Drives him nuts!)

When I recieved my Maple Leaf tartan kilt from Bear and I first felt the fabric, I thought oh oh?. But, I put it on and I was amazed at how he got that lightweight fabric to hang like that.
And he's original and Canadian.

Hey, I'm holding on the runway for a Cape Breton myself. Atleast I know it will be awesome when it gets here.
And yes... it's the Grizzly-cut again. I'm hooked.

I'm not allowed to sell, resell, or promote any kilt company until December 2005.
In this case, this all comes from an inquiry on three websites about kiltmakers. The responses have been HUGE. Lots of pros and cons for more than 20 kilt companies. It's a project that I'm in the middle of, and is quite "enlightening".
I guess you could say that Bear has done his own advertising in his work. Other forums and sites are VERY critical of kilts, and knit-pick them to DEATH. XMarksTheScot is VERY tame in the critical side of kilts. It's almost "Stepford" in some ways. I'm sure that comes from the "civil aire" about the board.
There are older sites that have members who have worn kilts since before I was born... and those guys are WELL EDUCATED in the history, traditions and heritage. They've been a HUGE help with my project.
Herein lies the base for the accolades that have been posted on this thread. When applause is due... it needs to be recognized.
Note: incidentally, there is ONE solid kilt manufacturer that has gained any favor with the community. That's based on their quality alone. The feedback is about 50/50 with them too.

Almost forgot...
I could easily send accolades to four other companies, from the responses. Any guesses?
1). Best NEW company. (TJofL)
2). Best selection. (TJofL)
3). Most innovative. (A tied TJofL)
4). Easiest to buy. (SK tied A)
5). Best customer service. (PK... no doubt!)
Answers are abbreviated in the parenthesis.
