Fisherman Sandals for Summer
By the time my kilt arrives it will be summer here in the central valley and that means heat. Yes I know it is a dry heat but the dogs get warm none the less. So I am considering the purchase of some fisherman sandals as an upgrade from my Tevas. It would be nice to see some pictures of folks wearing their fisherman sandals or other nice sandals with the Kilt.
I am thinking about something like these.

I'm not sure what fisherman sandals are. I have worn the athletic type sandals with the ankle straps sometimes with my canvas kilt, as well as the leather thong sandals. And thinking about it, I have also worn the closed-toe slide sandals with the kilt.

Reason: Picture wasn't needed.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Those are almost an exact match to the sandals I wear with all my kilts, unless I am going to something formal. In fact, I had to go to an event last week, and my feet were really mad at me that I had to wear real shoes!

They are Josef Seibel. I posted a review here http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...-review-73731/
But I forgot to link it to this thread

Truth...I like what you bought a lot better than what you *were* going to get! They look more like shoes to me, and I'm sorry but I'm just not a big fan of the sandals plus kilt look. Guys do it all the time, and I've been known to wear Teva's with a camouflage kilt when hanging around camp during a backpacking trip, but generally....just don't dig it.
I think you scored, here... just my dos centavos.

Nope, a matter of adapting to the climate that some of us live in. Now, not for formal occasions obviously, but just heading out for normal activities? Absolutely!

Wow, I am shocked and honored at the same time; this from a man that has an entire thread dedicated to why he doesn’t like to spend money on clothes. My typical approach for something this expensive is to shop for a year or two until I find exactly what I want. My go-to daypack I bought new in 1978 and Jansport replaced it once for free under their lifetime warranty. I have a 1969 Ford F250 that has been in the family since it was new, and I am still on my first wife (which is a big money saver right there).
If these sandals prove one tenth as durable as the above I will be satisfied.
