    Formal Purple Kilt Outfit

Here is a photo of me in the latest incarnation of my "Formal" purple thistle brocade kilt outfit. I wear it to a show at my Alma mater, Northwestern University, whose colors are purple and white. The newest addition this year was the navy blue Prince Charlie.

    What does everyone think?

Honestly, it's a bit too much purple for me. But I get that your representing your Alma Mater's colors. I think it's the solid nature of the kilt and fly plaid that throws me... I'm a fan of tartan and enjoy playing with the colors instead of going for a more solid effect. I think you temper it well with the navy blue, but in the photo it comes out looking purplish--for instance, I can't really tell what color your hose are, I assume navy blue, but I thought purple at first glance. So at first glance, it looks too purple.
I must appreciate however that you wear a navy blue jacket over the all-too-often seen black.

With purple and white being the colors I would almost say this is one of the rare occasions for white kilt hose with purple flashes. better yet would be white and purple diced hose.

    Certainly a unique look!

You carry it off quite well though.

    Good show!
