    grad kilt

Well heres the story. I have 15 mins before i go to work and thought i'd look on the net for some info... anyways

I am graduating next year and I am very proud of my scottish background (only a 1/4 but strong as hell Razz) So the thing is i always have to be the odd man out, do something that will turn heads, be myself. I want to have a kilt tux for my graduation. But the sad thing is i dont know too much about kilts. I know there is the kilt, the tarten, and sporrans, and a family crest (know mine). Any other things I should know or any sites that have lots of info....

    Thanks

Well, there are also the flashes (Ribbons on the Kilt Hose), the Kilt Hose itself, the sgian duhb, and, if you really want to be flashy, the argyle jacket. There are a few posts that contain links to certain sites with full pictures, other time some of the merchants will show ALL the things they offer.

However, it depends on how much you want to spend, honestly. Certain things, such as the argyle jacket, can set you back $400-$500 easy. My advice would be to find a kilt store that is somewhat local to you and see if you can rent some of the more costly items.

What parts do you already own?

Can't complete outfits (sans socks and shirt) be rented for around $150??

We even have members that do it:

    Matt at the Museum
    http://giftshop.scottishtartans.org/rent.html

    and Thistle Stop
    http://www.thistlestopshop.com/catal.../kilthire.html

    both rent kilt outfits.

I think that might be the way to go....
