Help me pick a shirt and tie (pics)
Cleared to go kilted to church tomorrow. Very casual place, long haired hippie people in flip flops are welcome. But it is Easter of course.
I am going with a buttoned shirt and a tie, no jacket/ blazer/ Argylle/ PC.
Among the above the Lovat blue and Lovat green hose I have look awfully similar to the lighter steel blue shirt. I can't see the darker French blue shirt working at all.
I am not anxious to trot out my claret hose tomorrow, though it seems maybe a good choice considering my limited shirt selection.
Do I want the bottom end of the tie even with the top of my kilt, or the top of my kilt belt? Thanks.

Shoes matter I suppose. And weather. I could ditch the tie and go with collar button undone nice shirt, work boots and scrunched down wool socks.

Black shoes for sure.
This is me.

I also have a pair of navy blue hose which also look good.

As far as shoes I would go with brown to match the Sporran (and a brown belt if one is worn) Personally I like the light blue shirt with the yellow tie, and either blue hose with red garter or green hose with blue garter. Just my 2 cents.

No real need to match anything. Chuck em all int the air and see what lands with what.
Brown sporran with black shoes, no problem.

Option #1: mix it up
striped tie, light blue shirt, green hose, blue garter ties, black shoes.
Option #2: match it up
blue tie, light blue shirt, blue hose, red garter ties, brown shoes
Option #1 (or some variation on the theme) might be a more traditional way to go, i.e. don't worry about being to matchy-matchy. The second picture you posted could work nicely as well.
Will anyone else be kilted?

I agree with these picks for Easter for a cheerful look, but I'll specify the light blue shirt. I like both shirts and all of the ties (even the one with elephants), but a cheerful look will blend in better with the less formally dressed worshipers. My preference with the brown sporran would be the brown shoes. I prefer to match leathers, unless one of the pieces is made of mixed leathers, and, in this case, I think that a brown sporran and black shoes would make the entire outfit look a bit thrown together, rather than casually coordinated.

Lighter blue shirt, striped tie, either pair of hose with either pair of garter ties (it's okay to either match or coordinate hose and garter ties).

A moot point now, but I like the light blue shirt and the green hose.
I think the French blue shirt could work, perhaps with a cunning choice of tie. I see it with an elderly one in my closet containing orange, and specks of a similar blue. In that case, I'd wear the green hose with the blue garters, just to echo the shirt color quietly. FWIW
