House of Edgar has all my money...why am I so happy?

I recently placed two orders with TartanKilts.com, The House of Edgar's retail site:

Order no. 1: One 5-yard medium-weight casual kilt in the County Cavan tartan and one dress leather sporran made by Morrison Sporrans.

    Estimated dispatch: 5/19/2006.

Order no. 2: 20 meters of the Fitzsimmons tartan (double-width), from which an 8-yard traditional kilt and two pair of matching tartan flashes will be made (leaving about 16.1 meters left over).

    Estimated dispatch: 7/14/2006.

is all I have left to say.

P.S. Most of you have already seen my Fitzsimmons kilt (made by Matt Newsome). If you've never seen a County Cavan kilt, see this site.

One of these days I'll have to order a kilt from them. I don't have a House of Edgar yet in my collection.

Ohhhh, and I just noticed that they have the MacKay of Strathnaver as an option!!!! I want a kilt in that soooo badly and no one else seems to have it available. WOW.

Now, how can I sneak another kilt onto the credit card without Nopadon noticing?

That County Cavan tartan looks great! Nice purchase. I'll also have to check out the website since I've never seen it before. Thanks for the heads up.

When we got in a complete set of Edgar swatches in their "Old & Rare" range I spent an afternoon just flipping through them all. Their Mackay of Strathnaver is really attractive. I have no connections to the clan Mackay, but I wouldn't turn down a kilt in this tartan!

One advantage of being a kilt maker is that I get to make kilts in all these beautiful tartans. Even though I can't own a kilt in every tartan I like, I do get to "play" with it for a while -- quite fun!

It would be a handsome kilt!

I really do enjoy my House of Edgar, it is priceless! I know that you will love yours, as it sounds as if you already are.

When I first approached Edgar about weaving the Fitzsimmons tartan (and making a kilt), the sales manager suggested I have a look at the colors they'd like to use before I make my decision and place the order. I received a professional CAD print of the tartan and yarn samples of the proposed colors (mills don't use the same dyes). Once I saw the yarn samples (absolutely beautiful!!), I was convinced to place the order.

So, yes...I'm already enjoying the kilt even though I don't have it yet!

20 metres?! Won't that make 4-5 8 yard kilts (if it's double wide)?
