that is a beautiful sporran, but I could not see myself wearing it. A little expensive too.

Whoo, that price! You will be paying for the workman's time/artistry.
I have worked with feathers in jewelry and clothing (1969-ish). Terribly fragile things even if individually sewn on. I think this display is constructed with adhesive. I can see the quills of the breast feathers when looking close at the sporran.
I like it, would never wear it. It seems a disposable (one time use) item, thus against my stingy-miserly nature.
What exactly is, "...an experienced sporran wearer"?

Reason: comment on the seller last sentence.

My reaction was that it would be awfully (overly) fragile, but something similar might be an interesting pattern to tool into a leather front, either with the cantle or without as a hunting sporran.

It looks a lot like a Kate MacPhearson Sporran. She has made some beautiful ones from Owl, Pheasant, and Ducks.

Definitely a sporran to be coddled, to be sure. Wouldn't wear it in the car with the seat belt, for instance. Nice work in the picture, though.

That's beautiful. although as a taxidermy fan I know how fragile bird skins can be. It might be better to have one where the feathers are just sewn into the leather individually? I can just picture those wings snapping off!

Ah, a bell has rung, Emma - I've seen an article about you and your Dapper Sporrans somewhere recently.
Not my cup of tea really though I can see you've pondered over it.
Aa the best.

Haha wrong Emma I'm afraid - the Emma in question is a close neighbour though (I live in Forgue, she lives in Bridge of Marnoch). We ride horses together and I own some of her work. I met her through dog grooming though so we have that in common haha. We went to the same taxidermy instructor too - sadly I never made a business out of my skills, I'm only good at birds, hence this post! Mammals are beyond me, too much work
