Aside from 'the Question' concerns, I think this sort of casual activity with the kilt on is good for the movement in general. Sounds like you could be enjoying the games twice as much as the other players..

The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.

It's appeal comes more from fun of playing the game--and reconnecting with the simple joys of chidhood games-- than from the display of athletic ability and competition. It's just for fun, and most leagues make an effort to keep it that way, even going as far as team members being picked from the group like we did on the playground as kids. I played on a league in Washington, and that's how we did it.

Whidby more or less got it right, our league has 3 divisions. The regular Norfolk league which was split in two due to size of the new field for Fall ball and a new Virginia Beach league. Players join teams before the season unless you are an orphan, then you are assigned a team.
Its just like elementary school kickball, except there are mass quantities of booze and vodka gummi bears involved. Even more so if you play "sloshball"

Sloshball is a drunk version of kickball.
At each base the runner, if safe must shotgun or chug a beer. If out, 2 beers.
A scored run results in the runner(s) doing kegstands by home plate.
Umpires can call random beer drinking for all on the field players at anytime.

The mosquitos were pretty bad in the Spring and Summer leagues. The Fall they're not so bad, but we haven't had the 1st frost yet which will kill them till Spring.
