Kilt with Country Club Casual
I'm going to a casino night fundraiser tomorrow. The dress code is "country club casual". I've never heard of this. I was planning on wearing my kilt (freemason universal) with either a polo shirt or solid dress shirt, no tie. I will probably wear either the forest green tweed coat I modified earlier this year or the black one I'm finishing working on tonight. They are the crail style I think, as they have just standard sports coat cuffs.
Thoughts? Thanks!

Not that I'm an expert by any means, but I'd think you'd be safe with either a polo or casual button down shirt and a tweed coat. The casual bit tells me to leave the tie at home.

Thanks. I was planning on not wearing a tie. The tweed is olive actually. Should go well with a predominately purple and blue kilt, no?

Ah, for the days of simple and understandable dress codes.
Anyway, "country club casual" usually means that you wear in the clubhouse whatever you would wear on the golf course. For daytime, that means a golf shirt and slacks, and maybe a sport jacket. For evening, a blazer, polo or button-down shirt, and slacks. Generally, no tie.
So, what you have in mind seems to be right.

I think Jersey is also allowing you to sub a kilt for the slacks. Just make sure it isn't Royal Troon. Have a ball.

Thanks for the help. I'll post pics of the get up.
Was Royal Troon where they wouldn't let you play? This is the local CC that one of my kickball teammates is the membership coordinator of.

I did say what he proposed was fine.
And even Troon said you could wear highland attire in the clubhouse. Funny how plaid pants are okay, but a tartan kilt isn't. Maybe you should have worn a white belt?

What I ended up wearing:

Ramone won't share the others where the ladies are surrounding me in a mosh pit trying to grab peeks.

You, Sir, seem to have a lot of fun! Country clubs, kickball...good times. Good way to represent us kilted folk as well.

Thanks. I find the kilt really helps with my socialphobia. When I started wearing them regularly to games back in March my teammates were a little wary, now people are shocked if I show up to a game with out one on.
Though Halloween I shall be wearing a pair of fairly short shorts.
