More Hemp for Me
I wasn't going to say anything, but after really liking the black hemp kilt from RKilts - I bought another.
Even though it's same as the last one, the excitement of putting a new kilt on was not lessened one bit.
The package included two other kilts for two other Australians including a Tasmanian friend I've known for some years, and now he's wearing a non-tartan!
Well done Robert, these kilts just get better, I like the slightly thinner leather used in the straps, easier to use!

A hemp R-kilt just keeps sounding sweeter and sweeter.... Some sort of R-kilt is definitely high on my wish list. That is for certain.

It is all Graham's fault that I broke down and ordered a custom hemp kilt from Robert in the first place.
Thank you Graham.
Edit. I'd love to hear more from you about how it is now that it is broken in. Hemp never wears out, it only wears in. I'd love to know more about the pleats, creases, etc, now that the hemp has had a chance to 'relax' due to hard wear.
Thanks.

Given my problem with wool (allergy), this sounds promising - I'll need to check this out, it looks like!

Can you smoke them for a good buzz? It's legal right?
Ahh, why waste a good kilt for a cheap thrill.
<--End ridiculous comments-->
They do look nice.

Here's a couple of piccies of my first hemp kilt.

Dread, it really is the most comfortable kilt. The hemp is warm and quite windproof, warmer than PV. The creases fall out fairly well. When it gets real dirty it goes in the washing machine. It's easy to iron and I give the leather some treatment after every wash.
After eight months on regular wear I've not noticed any fading. Only a couple of studs have fallen out, but Robert gave me a heap of replacements.
It seems MUCH softer to wear than cotton duck, and doesn't need the wearing in that other materials need.
It's fine to wear out of the box.
Robert now makes a nice apron that clips over the front for added protection, I've ordered one.

Do these hemp kilts ride low on the hips or like a tank?

more like a traditional kilt, I wear mine at belly button level or a bit lower.
Personally, I'm never comfortable with any garment around my hips.

You tell me where you want it be it just above the hip or at the navel I will make it that way.
Cheers
