My new kilt
Yesterday when I got home there was a package at the front door…… My Huevos Grandes Kilt from Gary (Wolfegore)!!! I am slowly venturing into the non-traditional arena, and this is definitely non traditional…. WOW!
I love it! I asked him to make it with a more traditional wider apron and the red inserts. He did a great job!! He included a matching black cloth sporran, belt loops, and sporran hangers. The sewing is tight, even and straight. The only thing I need to do is press it out, but I thought you guys would like to see it as soon as possible, so please excuse the wrinkles!
He mailed it rolled in one of those triangular postal boxes, and it came through the mails fine. I think that this is the best way to mail and/or pack a kilt for traveling.
Back to the kilt… When standing, you see just a hint of the red lining but when I walk or raise my leg (see photos below) the red just jumps out. I had asked that the apron be of a more traditional width, as I am still not very comfortable with the narrow aprons found on most non-traditional kilts. My request didn’t even phase him – he just said sure. His normal kilts have snaps, but when he was getting to the final stages, I think he realized that that wouldn’t work, and he asked me what I wanted. I chose velcro and I reallylike it! It gives me the flexibility to adjust the size on the fly, so to speak, through out the day as my waist changes.
The fabric is a good weight for this type of kilt, and should hold up to hard use. The pleats are facing the back on both sides, and that gives a really nice flow and swing. The center back pleats meet in the back. It is a good solid design, and I recommend anyone looking for a good casual kilt to contact Gary (Wolfgore) and see if he will make you one.
I will definitely be asking him to make me more.
Thanks Gary – Good job!

That kilt has got some flash to it! I like it.
Congrats on an awesome kilt.
A great job Wolfgore!
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

Congratulations on the new kilt Jay, it certainly is flashy, and the closest thing now available to the much loved Pittsburgh Kilt.

For a "slow venture" into non-trad, you took a running leap! Looks good and will make it easy to spot you in Ventura See you there!

Very sharp! I like that! It does look like you are taking a flying leap into non-trads versus a slow venture with that one!
