My shell jacket conversion is (finally) finished.

So, I finally finished my shell jacket conversion a little while back. Just now got around to posting pictures here as I am rather busy with planting a new church in a building that needs extensive renovation. This shot was taken at the New Years eve party that we held in celebration of the new building. I'm standing next to the Christmas tree that the children's Sunday school class decorated. It looks better than me any day, but I'm happy with the jacket. You really can't see it in the picture, but the lighter blue accents are a color on color ivy patterned jacquard. I'm still playing with the versatility of it, but it seems to work for anything from business suit equivalent (though on the less conservative end) through black and white tie.

I had little doubt that the jacket would turn out as well as it looks from your earlier post. Good job and wear it with a glad heart (and a dash of personal pride).

I've been looking at civil war regalia for some time and wondering how it would look paired with a kilt. most of the shell jackets at least seem about the right length. Yours looks fine to me and I'm sure few would recognise it for what it is/was. Great stuff!
