Need Help With UK Leather Kilt Laces

If anyone has mastered the laces on the UK leather kilt I sure could use help.

Never seen anything laced up like that and no instructions came with the kilt. Someone did say the lacing pattern would keep the kilt from suddenly becoming loose.

I've studied the pattern and even traced it out to refer to. But its very tedious to adjust the laces to size. Wondering if I'm missing something. Any help appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Ron

Right now looser, but want to know how to (hopefully) manipulate the laces easier so I can do either.

Right now changes are made a half inch of lace at a time through the whole system.

I'm not familiar with their method of lacing, but I'd be inclined to lay out the kilt, measure, then pull the lacing to that measurement and tie it off.

It's pretty much a push pull kinda thing, I don't know how to explain in writing. I think all the new ones have the tie at the bottom? Start there and make the bottom set huge and work your way up, don't worry about making them even yet. after you have it about right. Clean up your lines. If I were close I could show you. You're right in that it is not easy! But as you already stated once it is set it won't move.
