...And subsequent to a past thread on the subject, today while visiting the BBC News website, I was served a banner ad for a US-based purveyor called Thursday Boots (thursdayboots.com) and although I seldom wear boots these days--except for when I'm feeling a bit "Country", in the American sense--the ones sold by this outfit are flat-out beautiful in an impressive variety of styles and colours and, assuming their build quality matches their good looks, are also sensibly priced. They offer both women's and men's styles and free domestic U.S. shipping & returns. Worth a look if you like to compliment your kilt with boots....

I did look at the site mentioned. I am a boot and hat guy (many of you know this) so study items like this with a critical eye. I like the prices. I think (without getting my hands on the product) the construction looks sound. The men's styles would work perfectly with a kilt for many levels of dress (formal to casual).

For me, the versatility and the challenge of wearing a kilt are two sides of the same coin, and the key to exploiting the former while overcoming the latter lies in the right accessories. Get the details right and you're off and running. Get them wrong and you're a hot mess. Regardless what you're wearing--or how you're wearing it--footwear is always worth the extra thought and investment. Kilt On!

That confirms my suspicions that both the Men's and Women's models are in fact as well-made as they appear to be. What's good for the goose really is good for the gander. I hope/assume The Redhead has a lovely kilted skirt to wear with them...

We haven't got to the kilted skirt... yet. But she does have an Edinburgh cape and vest in MacKenzie weathered.

Excellent! I have a MacKenzie Weathered kilt and it's easily one of my favorite tartans. I'm sure it compliments those boots in that particular colour perfectly. Good Eye!

Thanks for the referral and the boots look excellent. Unfortunately, the sizes stop a little too short for my foot, 15 EEEE, which is outside of most manufacturers range. Any leads on boots that accommodate at least a 15-wide would be appreciated.
