MoR, have you ever actually HELD or WORN a Freedom Kilt or an R Kilt? I have. Whether you like them or not, they are first quality, solidly constructed, carefully designed pieces of kit. They are examples of the best sort of quality work, and anyone who had ever actually MADE a kilt and then picked up one of Steve's products or one of Roberts products would INSTANTLY know. I have no qualms whatsoever stating publically that both Freedom Kilts products and the R Kilts products are in a whole different class from any X-Kilt, or for that matter ANY casual kilt I have ever turned out. They are FIRST CLASS garments.
If you don't like contemporary or modern kilts and MUGS, then that's fine. But to trash-talk the product(s) created by the owner of, and members of the forum, when you've never even SEEN ONE is disgusting and grossly arrogant.
I think that you owe Steve Ashton and Robert Pel an apology, right here and right now.
I think you need to go back and re-read my post. Maybe you can get Paul to help you.

You have lumped together in your comment a very large number of "modern/contemporary" kilts into one heap and disparaged all of them in go, that is neither very fair, very nice, or even very correct.
We all know you are a traditional kilt wearer, so I suspect your comments here are only to stir.
On the contrary Paul, my comments were just that-- my take as to why the majority on XMTS probably don't post in this particular forum; a lack of interest in the product. The fact that there can be a sometimes hostile lack of respect shown for the opinions of traditionalists may be another reason that this particular forum is avoided by many.
As far as "lumping" things together goes, the very word "kilt" has become a collective noun that is used by some to "lump things together". Those with reasonable levels of reading comprehension would -- or should -- understand that a direct reference to "cargo shorts with their legs sewn together" is a direct reference to that type of product, and that type of product alone. An open dislike of me, or my preferences in attire, may of course make it difficult for others to see beyond their own prejudices.
As far as your comprehensive reading skills are concerned, I've never thought to question them--

If you want to make this about me, rather than about someone mis-reading my post, fine. Personal attacks are nothing new on this-- or any other-- forum, although they do display a real lack of character on the part of those who initiate them. I don't really care what you think about me, or what you choose to post. Let me be perfectly blunt. The minute you choose to make things personal, whatever regard I may have had for you or your opinions goes right down the toilet.
Read into that what you will.
Well said Scott and you couldn't be more spot on mate! I completely agree with you. I tend to pick and choose my 'battles', or discussions that have the potential to become 'heated' on this forum, which are definitely few and far between, and more often than not, are usually instigated by non-frequent members who really have no idea what is going on in regards to how the majority of Xmarkers operate as kind, honourable gentlemen (and women) who aren't out there trying to 'prove' anything to others, or perhaps display signs of arrogance, insecurity, and ostentatious immaturity. Thank you for saying what you have said - I am rather confident that many others on here agree with you.
Yours aye,
