Too much?
Now I'm as much a fan of modernness and creativity in kilts as the next guy, but for me, this just has too much going on. It kind of looks like they went and used what scraps were laying on the sewing room floor.

I have to agree that it seems to be made out of the remnants of other projects. I could see it possibly working (emphasis on POSSIBLY) if they had alternated material in every other pleat in only two of the materials with a solid material used for the apron. As is though it just doesn't work with me

Not sure exactly what is going on there, but I keep finding my thinking coming back to toned-down colors in a kilt, rather than wild and flashy stuff. I guess more simple, even in design, like fewer pleats… Probably just an extension of my personality.
If someone feels happy with dressing in flashy and wild ways, though, doesn't bother me: go for it.

Well it is certainly original and would make a good conversation starter!

I like avante garde fashion and all, but...
Yeah, there's nothing unifying the design elements.

I believe that was made by Kilt This! (company LINK). One of the owners is a member here but doesn't post very often. They do a lot of custom work and part of their ethos is reusing stuff from second hand clothing. I really like some of their more punk style kilts, maybe as stage clothing for a musician.
This particular offering is certainly eclectic in its appearance. I would like to see how someone would build an outfit around it.... pretty cool, though I'd never wear it.

Oh I love Kilt This, and follow them on FB (which is where I saw the pic). This one is just a bit too out there for me. Too each his own though.
