You say, but if you were to look through the single-ply sections of some of my summer weight wool suits (such as a trouser leg), you'd think they were practically voile.
Here, for instance, is a ladies' top made of wool voile:
Looks cool and breezy to me, but I doubt the pleats would hold, however.
Regards,
Rex.
At any moment you must be prepared to give up who you are today for who you could become tomorrow.

I stand corrected.
Given it's transparency that fabric would need the Sport Kilt four-layer apron treatment.

Yeah. You can have my weather. Humidity at a constant 100%, highs just under 100 and lows in the 80's.

Yeah.
First there was Spring with too many rainy days and not enough sun.
Good for medium weight kilts though.
Now or soon there will be heat and high humidity for a few months.
I posted in this sub-forum because the weather in much of the USA and for the outdoor season of the year is not particularly friendly to traditional kilts and outfits. Not Scotland.
To the kilt makers and kilt sellers: Don’t neglect the lightweight (and I mean lightweight) market.

Good gods!! Nekkid is the only solution! Otherwise, you'll just be wet all the time!

It's been anywhere from 89-99 the past week down my way. Usually not to bad but we have been getting more moisture than usual this time of year and the humidity has been spiking anywhere from 10%-75%+ teh suck.
