Vest to go with a kilt
Not really sure this is the best place for this, but I think it would go better with modern than traditional.
I am looking for a vest to wear with my tartan kilt for a wild west and/or steampunk feel/look.
I am not familiar with the wearing of vests or jackets/coats with a kilt at all. I usually wear a t-shirt, a button up dressy shirt or one of my poofy renn faire shirts.
I've been looking around The Gentleman's Emporium but at a loss for what works.

Lots of the shorter, straight cut vests from Gentleman's Emporium or Wild West Mercantile;

will work well with a kilt, they have some that are more 'old west', and some that are more 'Victorian'
Order of the Dandelion, The Houston Area Kilt Society, Bald Rabble in Kilts, Kilted Texas Rabble Rousers, The Flatcap Confederation, Kilted Playtron Group.

This one is a bit pricey, but may come close to what you are looking for.

I like the Murphy's Pub vest. We have good taste Brooke!

I'm loving that vest as well, enough that I'm trying to convince the wife to make one similar in a lightweight tweed for my prodigious frame :-)
