I'm gathering materials to make my first Kilt and want to check if what I have is usable. As much as I'd love to use wool, I don't have enough confidence in the quality that I'll produce in this first attempt, so I opted to go with a less expensive polyviscose fabric. I received it today and it appears both edges are fringed and sewn. What would you guys suggest is the best way to deal with this? Should I hem, cut off the fringe and accept the sewn edge as a first attempt or do you think it pointless to use this fabric? Edit: Clearly I was a little too excited to come on here and ask my question without first checking that the question hasn't already been answered!

A question first. When you say P/V do you mean Marton Mills blend? Can you post a photo please?
