I have a fair amount of material for my inverted pleat. My question is does the material split as a 50/50 split between laying under the pleated back and underapron, or does it carry the same pleat as all the rest under the pleated area, and the balance goes under the underapron? It looks as though the illustrations in your book ( pages 86 - 88 ) that it is 50/50. But should the majority of the inverted pleat lay to th eunderapron side? Thanks, Bart
Barb says it here: http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/i...642/index.html 50/50 That is also how I understand it from her book and the way I build my kilts!

I make it 50/50. But you don't want an absolutely enormous inverted pleat. I wouldn't put more than 4" or so each way. A 4" pleat each way takes up 16" of fabric. If you're putting more into your inverted pleat, I'd move the center of the underapron so that you use up only about 16" in the inverted pleat. Maybe 18" max (which would be a 4.5" deep pleat each way).
