My Best Man just got his kilt and it is a tad too long. He is wearing it up around his belly button and the kilt goes to the bottom of his knee cap. He likes where the waist is, says it's comfortable, so, we need to get it altered. Does anyone in Southern California know an experienced tailors, or, better yet, any kilt makers in the area? Any suggestions would help. I know we could send it back to Rocky (the kilt is from USA Kilts), but a local option might end up being quicker and we'd save on shipping costs. The wedding is on June 24th, 2012. Just over 2 months away.
It would be much easier and still look fine if he were to pull it up an inch. That would bring the height to about the true waist. It may take a bit to get used to the kilt at this height but I'm sure he will find it comfortable.
