    Which Tartan Is This?

I picked up a mill end at Joann Fabrics today. It's only 70% wool, but for $6/yd I couldn't let it go. Does anyone have any idea if this is a clan tartan or just a random plaid?

I think that this is what is called a fashion tartan. From what I can see it is a plain weave and not a twill weave.

It's just a random plaid. Not a registered tartan.

That is not to say that it isn't a handsome weave, because I think it is.

You're right. I took a closer look and it's a plain weave. Still nice colors and pattern. Not sure what I'll use it for.
Maybe I can make a nice skirt from it ;-)

The pattern is here somewhere - why not make an X-Kilt?

    If you have enough material.

Very nice fabric. That might indeed make a cool x-kilt.

Six yards is more than enough to make an X-Kilt. I would give it serious consideration. Many, many members have already made one, so there is a great pool of expertise to call upon.

I like the colors, I would vote for an X-kilt also!
