The Casual design
I have spent the worst of winter in denim Utilikilts and 3 belt traditional wool and acrylic kilts. After spending a summer in velcro waist USAK PV Casuals with a belt to hold my sporran via hanger straps, I am finding those 3 traditional belts a totally useless hassle to deal with. The aprons don't stay lined up - I have to realign during the day - even if the straps are really tight which pulls the fabric. The lower strap seems of marginal use here and I never missed it on Rocky's casuals.
With the USA Casuals, the velcro waist, plus not having any belts to fuss with, plus having the aprons stay aligned at the waist, plus proper tailoring - meaning the lower belt is unneeded, plus durable washable PV, plus having the belt loops positioned to hold my belt in position.... IMHO the perfect kilt design, material and workmanship. There is no complicated under structure to reinforce the back waist, but to date none has proven needed - and I have ran several of these pretty hard - the waist stretches about 1/2 inch and stops there.
The only sign of use on these - some around 60 full days - is minor pilling from the nylon Nightstalker sporran. I have since gotten a leather one. It appears woven nylon rub trumps the anti pill treatment over time and 15 - 20 washings. The rest of the kilt still looks new and they have been in the local red clay mud and dust.

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

Good review, Chuck! Thank you. It really set my mind at ease having recently ordered one of these. Rocky and his team have a stellar reputation. I'm sure mine will be fantastic, just like yours.

I got out my disposable single blade razor and lint roller and shaved the apron pills left by the nylon Nightstalker.
Then turned my attention to my Sport kilts - oh my g*d - everywhere and heavy. I think the SKs are made of cotton poly - not durable at all! My US Navy SK has barnicles! I DO wear the SK flannel comfy kilts a lot around the house in winter - cheap and warm - pill also, but who cares.

Hi Tundramanq, I really don't quite get what you mean when you say that the aprons don't remain lined up. Is it that the whole kilt turns on your torso and you mention about "proper tailoring", could you expand on that?
Shoot straight you bastards. Don't make a mess of it. Harry (Breaker) Harbord Morant - Bushveldt Carbineers

The top edges (waistbands?) on the aprons dont stay one ontop of the other under my belt that I keep fairly snug to keep the kilt, that I wear at my hips in place. Not much **** here.
Wearing at my waist is a nogo due to prior surguries leaving a dacron mesh and suture ends just under my skin 3 inches up and down from my naval.

The operations were 11 years ago and don't bother me at all - as long as I keep the waist bands off of ithe site.
Waist bands and belts don't move much, but the abdominal muscles do. I could probably have the mesh sutures removed as, at this point, they aren't needed. But am little knife shy -

I hear you. My sister had a similar operation right now and recentlynhad her mesh removed. Very painful and uncomfortable.
